The Colorado Natives Club meets the fourth Thursday evening of every month
(unless that date conflicts with Thanksgiving or Christmas, in which case it is the 3rd Thursday evening). We meet at The Otis Park Community Center at the North West corner Iowa and Dale streets. We begin at 5:45 Pm and have a potluck supper, followed by a short program of interest to we native Coloradans. We are actively looking for new members, as many of us are getting a bit long in the tooth. The interaction is quite convivial, and the stories told are extremely interesting.
Tony Venetucci, one of two pioneering brothers who ran a vegetable farm south of town since the early 1900s, founded the Colorado Natives Club in 1976. Tony and his brother Nick, are beloved by generations of local school kids who the brothers gave the experience of picking free pumpkins on their farm. The Club was formed to tie together, native Coloradans who wish to preserve their heritage and protect historic buildings, artifacts, and our way of life. The Club meets on the 4th Thursday evening of each month (except when Thanksgiving and Christmas conflict). We meet at the Otis Park Community Center at Iowa and Dale streets at 6:00 in the evening. The meeting consists of a pot-luck supper, a short meeting, entertainment and, good conversation and fellowship of folks with many fascinating tales to tell. It’s a lot of fun, and great company!!!
